Clubs
Most of the clubs will take place at lunchtime and the children can sign up for these. We do ask that if children sign up to a club, they commit to the club for the period of time it takes place.
Choir Club
Ms Heaps leads our Choir Club. This is a popular club for all children from year 3- 6. Choir Club takes place every Friday lunchtime from Autumn 1 with events planned during the school term.
These events such as; singing at the Gardening Centre at Christmas and singing at the local nursing home are all events that the children enjoy.
Dance Club
Mrs Linwood, Miss Franklin and Miss Forrest- Talbot lead the Dance Club. Dance Club is open to children from year 3-6 and takes place every Tuesday from Autumn 1. There are 2 main events in the calendar for the Dance Club; the Andover Dance Festival which takes place in the summer term and Dance Live which takes place in spring term. This is the first time we have entered Dance Live (25/26) and we are excited to take the children to Portsmouth Guildhall to compete against hundreds of schools across the country.
Book Club
Mrs Britton leads the Book Club. Book Club is open to KS1 and KS2 and takes place every week from Autumn 2. The children enjoy the pleasure and love of reading a book and in KS2 they can take the book home and read further.
As a school that understands the importance of reading, we also want children to love reading and read outside the reading curriculum.
Lego Club
Mrs Linwood leads Lego Club. Lego is hugely popular amongst children. This is open to KS1 and KS2 children. This encourages imagination and creativity.
Lego Club takes place every week from Autumn 2.
Science Club
Mrs White leads Science Club and this will take place weekly from Autumn 2. This club is for those children that get excited and are inquisitive about scientific knowledge and want to know more.
Art Club
Mrs Elsey leads Art Club and this will take place from Autumn 2. This club is for those children who enjoy creative activities. A range of media will be planned and used during each session.
Cricket Club
Mr Pritchard and Mrs Kitching will lead the cricket club. This will be Kwik cricket and the children will take part in this club in preparation for the cricket competition in the summer term.
This club will begin from Spring 1 and will be a weekly club.
Football Club
Mr Stow (sports coach) will lead the football club. The children will take part in the club in preparation for the football competition in the summer term.
This club will begin from Spring 1.
Athletics/ Cross Country Club
Athletics will be led by Mrs Hill. This will take place from Spring 1 in preparation for the athletic competition in the summer term.
Athletics will involve short and longer distance running, standing long jump, javelin and relay. There will be opportunities to practise at Charlton athletics track as well as the school field.
Cross Country will be led by Mrs Hill and will take place from Autumn 1 every Wednesday lunchtime in preparation for the event in Spring 1. This will be a weekly session and will take place at the school field.
Pokemon Club
Ms Bartley will lead the Pokemon Club every Monday lunchtime from Autumn 1. This will be a weekly session.
Pokemon is hugely popular amongst children. This is open to KS1 and KS2 children. This encourages imagination and creativity and a common interest between the children.
